Continue voice of voiceless Tamils-Windsor Star

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to you for your timely article on the real plights of the voiceless Tamils in Sri Lanka under the title of "In wake of Sri Lankan refugees." Centre for War Victims & Human Rights

The brutal war in Sri Lanka ended more than five months ago with many credible reports pointing out that over 20,000 Tamil civilians were slaughtered by the Sri Lankan forces in the final days of the war early this year. Close to 300,000 civilians including over 60,000 children are being illegally detained in the internment camps without adequate food, medicine, water and sanitary conditions for the past five months in many internment camps, what many, including the Times, U.K. described as concentration-style camps.

Many aid workers say their ability to work continues to be hampered by the Sri Lankan interfering in their day-to-day humanitarian activities in the camps where they have very limited access to these camps in the first place.

Once again, I am very grateful to you and to The Windsor Star for publishing this timely article and hope and pray that like-minded people like you continue to bring the real plights of the Tamils to the world attention, especially our government's attention.
