Many Dvora Fast Attack Crafts of the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) have surrounded the ICRC ship which was approaching Mu'l'li-vaaykkaal to transport the seriously wounded patients Thursday morning, according to latest reports from Vanni. The SLN attack crafts were also firing cannon shots towards the shore. The hostile presence of the SLN attack crafts have hampered the medical transportation of seriously wounded patients from the makeshift hospital where 700 patients are waiting to be transferred.
The ICRC mission was also delayed Wednesday due to cannon fire from the SLA positions across the Nanthik-kadal lagoon towards the sea.
The transportation is delayed from from 7:00 a.m. up to 11:30 a.m. due to the hostile act of the SLN.
